Providers who submit claims and outcomes at the same time will lengthen the time it takes for us to pay them for their work.

For that reason, we ask that you submit your outcome in advance of your claim. This is because the outcome has to be processed before the claim.

Work queue

Case outcomes and the claim are separate processes within CCMS. The case outcome must be resolved before the claim can be considered.

The way CCMS work means that the claim will not go into the work queue until the outcome has been dealt with and resolved.

We may have questions about the outcome you have submitted and these need to be resolved before we can consider your claim.

Examples where common questions crop up include cases where the statutory charge may apply or costs are payable by another party. Details of these must be provided when submitting outcomes.

Final claim

When your final claim is ready for submission you must ensure that you have successfully submitted and completed the outcomes for all proceedings in the case.

Guidance is available by looking at the CCMS training modules see below.

Processing times

When contacting us about work remember that the current average time shown for processing your claim on GOV.UK covers days taken for the claim aspect only.

Reporting outcomes in advance helps us to ensure your claim can be dealt with quickly upon receipt.
