New UK House Price Index

Land Registry

May 31
09:15 2016

The new UK House Price Index (UK HPI) replaces indices published by Land Registry and the Office for National Statistics.

Four monthly reports will be available on GOV.UK:

  • UK summary
  • report for England
  • report for Scotland
  • report for Wales

A quarterly report for Northern Ireland will be published by Land & Property Services, Northern Ireland.

The reports will include new statistics, eg first-time buyers and new builds. Find out how the methodology will change and the new release dates.

We are not publishing a Land Registry HPI report for England and Wales today (31 May). The March report issued on 28 April was the last in the series before the release of the new UK HPI.

The UK HPI was developed by:

  • Land Registry
  • Office for National Statistics
  • Registers of Scotland
  • Land & Property Services, Northern Ireland
  • Valuations Office Agency
