IP attachés help protect £400 million of UK business IP assets

Baroness Neville-Rolfe DBE announced that the IPOs specialist attach network has helped protect 400 million worth of IP assets for UK businesses.

Speaking at the Taylor Wessing Brands Forum (12 March) she outlined how the attachs had helped 8,400 businesses. They also provided direct practical support for 537 British firms to manage IP issues in four of the worlds fastest growing markets.

Baroness Neville-Rolfe DBE said: Boosting trade is vital to our continued economic growth. But operating and investing overseas can be a difficult and daunting process for some. The IP attachs are successfully helping UK businesses navigate new markets and are proving a real asset when it comes to helping business protect their IP overseas.

Speaking to an audience of international brand experts, the Minister set out the importance of brand to business success. IP rights, and especially trade marks, play a vital role in protecting companies brands. She also explained why it is crucial to have effective international systems, which support IP rights and global trade and investment.
