Innovate UK
Hundreds of innovators, entrepreneurs and investors will gather for the inaugural Venturefest East event this month.
Venturefest East, which takes place at Rowley Mile Race Course, Newmarket, on 24 May, is sponsored by Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network and will showcase innovation in the region.
The chief executive of Innovate UK, Dr Ruth McKernan, will give the keynote speech at the opening of the day-long event.
Sessions focus on innovation in East of England
The day will include a number of sessions on themes specific to business innovation in the East of England including:
- innovation in life sciences and pharmaceuticals
- innovation in agri-tech
- making your business investor ready
- opportunities in the Internet of Things
- growing a cleantech business
- gamification
Companies from the region will also be exhibiting to an audience that is expected to include angel investors, venture capitalists, directors of blue chip companies, other leaders of innovative businesses and academics.
A number of shortlisted businesses will have the chance to pitch to a team of judges, including business leaders and investors, for a total prize fund of 2,000 Guineas.
A chance to meet Innovate UK team
There will be an opportunity to meet representatives of Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network and find out about funding opportunities.
Venturefest East has been created by St Johns Innovation Centre and Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough and New Anglia local enterprise partnerships and is part of the Innovate UK series of events.
