NEET and participation local authority scorecard

Details

The Department for Education publishes an estimate each year of the proportion of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Evidence shows that a range of factors can affect the proportion of young people who are NEET. This scorecard aims to put the headline figure into context by presenting it alongside a range of other related information.

The scorecard:

  • allows local authorities and their partners to monitor their own performance and compare it with that of others
  • puts into context local authorities figures on the proportion of young people who are NEET and those with unknown education, employment or training status
