Details

Guidance setting out the street works permit scheme conditions that all highway authorities, imposing conditions on permits, must follow. This guidance is used with the street works permit schemes regulations guidance.

The future guidance, coming into force on 3 April 2023, is included. This guidance makes the alterations stated in the outcome of a consultation on reforms to street works permit schemes and will introduce a condition for:

  • ancillary information on adjacent streets
  • changes to traffic management arrangements

  2. The guidance has been updated following the introduction of the street manager digital service for planning and managing roadworks, and a change to the advice on signal removal from operation when no longer needed.
