You will be a senior assessor within the Human and Environmental Safety Team, which is part of the VMDs Authorisations Division.

The primary focus of this role is the assessment of data relating to environmental risk assessments, with the secondary requirement being the assessment of consumer and user safety.

Role

You will be responsible for theassessment of new Market Authorisations (MAs), extensions and variations to MAs. This will include:

  • Writing of comprehensive assessment reports on the ecological fate and environmental toxicology of active substances, in line with legislative timelines and international guidance documents
  • An expectation that the post holder would develop to assess other data types that the safety team evaluates, in particular user and consumer safety (pharmacology, toxicology, residues depletion and MRL setting), with a view to becoming an expert assessor in all relevant areas

It is also expected that the post holder will:

  • Produce and present relevant training materials to further educate other members of the VMD, as well as external clients
  • Travel overseas occasionally
  • Lead on behalf of the VMD in national and international committees relevant to the role
