The Environment Agency is inviting local residents and businesses to attend a drop-in event to discuss the permit application of an anaerobic digestion facility.

The drop-in will be held on Tuesday 17 January from 2.30pm until 7.30pm at:

Measham Leisure Centre
High St
Measham
Swadlincote
DE12 7HR

The aim of the drop-in is to speak to local residents and answer any questions about the environmental permit application which has been made by AB Produce in Measham to operate an anaerobic digestion plant. Environment Agency staff will be on hand to provide information about the application and their role as the regulator.

Kate Oates from the Environment Agency commented:

We would like residents and businesses to come along and talk to us about the application and any concerns they may have in regards to this. It is important that we obtain and consider the views of the public before we make our final decision on the application. We would like to encourage communities who are close to the site to forward their comments as part of our consultation process before 6 February 2017.
