The guidance clarifies how government ordinarily expects to interpret public service obligation (PSO) criteriafor domestic air services.
It will provide transparency on the governments assessment process to ensure fair and equal treatment for all applications on the requirements to qualify for a PSO route.
It also helps applicants understand how the government will apply the Regulation (EC) 1008/2008 in practice.
This guidance takes account of responses toDfTs consultation Aviation 2050: the future of UK aviation alongside theUnion connectivity reviewand the governments subsequent response.
