Guidance: Initial teacher training (ITT): provider guidance on stage 2

Details

ITT providers will enter stage 2 having passed stage 1 and been awarded accreditation. The stage 2 process will take place throughout academic years 2022 to 2023 and 2023 to 2024.

Organisations that deliver early years ITT must be accredited to deliver ITT that leads to the award of qualified teacher status (QTS) and must take part in the stage 2 process. Early years ITT courses however, will not be reviewed during the process.

This guidance does not apply directly to providers of further education initial teacher education.

How pupils learn: exemplar materials includes 3 examples of curriculum materials. These examples identify specific features representing good practice to support accredited ITT providers to develop their own materials.
