New Year Honours list 2015: education and children’s services

Almost 100 people working in education and childrens services are recognised today (30 December 2014) for their service to education, children and families in the 2015 New Year Honours list. Six of those awarded received knighthoods or damehoods, while 19 have been given the British Empire Medal.

Chris Wormald, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Education, said:

Congratulations to everyone on the New Year Honours list working in education and childrens services. Their endeavours are making a positive difference to children and families every day and they should take pride in their achievements.

Those honoured today include teachers, foster parents and headteachers from across England.
