On 7 September 2017 the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change granted consent for the Hornsea Two Offshore Wind Farm Order 2016 (the Order) which included in Schedule 8 and 10 (generation assets) and Schedule 9 and 11 (transmission assets) four deemed marine licences (DMLs) in accordance with Section 149 of the Planning Act 2008.

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) received a request from rsted to vary the DMLs contained within the Order. On 01 June 2022 the request was received to remove the requirement for a high-resolution bathymetric survey to be undertaken in areas within which works were carried out following the first major storm event from all DMLs, set out in Condition 15(2)(c) in Schedule 9 and Schedule 11.

The MMOs decision was to vary the DMLs as detailed in the Notices of Variation, effective from 20 February 2023.
