The Civil Service diversity internship programmes are now open for applications. The programmes are designed to give ethnic minority students, those from a socially or economically disadvantaged background, and disabled students an idea of what its like to work in the Civil Service.

The Summer Diversity Internship Programme (SDIP) puts talented undergraduates and graduates, from diverse backgrounds, on a 6- to 9-week work placement in a government department.

Some interns are offered a coaching programme to help improve their skills and move towards getting a place on the Civil Service Fast Stream.

The application window for the SDIP closes on 4 January 2016.

The Early Diversity Internship Programme (EDIP) gives first-year undergraduates from diverse backgrounds a sense of what being on a Fast Stream placement is like.

This 1-week programme can help you decide if you want to apply for a longer placement through the Summer Diversity Internship programme, or apply for a place on the Civil Service Fast Stream.

The application window for the EDIP closes on 30 November 2015.
