Apply in advance to avoid delay APHA is dealing with a high volume of applications.
The licensing process includes:
- an application form to licence or re-licence a premises (AGO01)
- a disease control contingency plan (AGO04)
These forms are for premises to apply for a licence to hold an animal gathering for the following:
- sale of animals
- show or exhibition
- onward consignment within Great Britain
- breed inspection
AGO01 includes the schedule of conditions which the licensee must follow to comply with the Animal Gatherings Order 2010 (England and Wales).
A site plan must also be submitted with AGO01 for all new events or events where the site plan has changed from the previous year.
A contingency plan must be provided for the animal gathering by using the AGO04 document or a document which covers the information requested in AGO04. The plan provides instructions for staff working at an animal gathering on what they must do if there is a suspected or confirmed case of notifiable disease at the event.
For customers in England, return the completed form to APHA Customer Service Centre Worcester.
For customers in Wales, return the completed form to the APHA office in Caernarfon.
