The Home Secretary and Albanian Interior Minister Taulant Balla have signed a joint statement of cooperation on Home Affairs (serious organised crime and organised immigration crime).
The statement acknowledges that it is in Albania and the UKs common interest to cooperate closely on the highest threats from serious organised crime:
- illicit finance
- corruption
- narcotics
- organised immigration crime
The statement commits the UK and Albania to strengthen collaboration on those areas and to an annual senior level dialogue. The joint statement commemorates and builds on the UKAlbania Joint Communique, signed by the Prime Minister in December 2022.
