Details

The Police Covenant was created to support all members and former members of the police workforce as set out in Section 1 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. This includes members of forces that are not associated with the 43 territorial police forces under the Home Offices direct responsibility.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is an agreement between the:

  • Home Office
  • Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
  • Ministry of Defence
  • Department for Transport
  • Scottish government
  • Welsh government

It sets out the actions the Home Office should take and how departments will work together to prepare the annual report, giving them the opportunity for input before it is made public and laid before Parliament.
