Details

This report is the Chief Coroners report covering the work of the coroner service in 2021 and 2022. It represents His Honour Judge Thomas Teague KCs report to the Lord Chancellor. The report details the operation of the coroner service following the suite of coroner reforms implemented in July 2013 under the 2009 Act and Rules and Regulations underpinning it. In particular the Chief Coroners report sets out:

  • the work that he, as well as coroners, their officers and their staff have undertaken to manage the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic
  • the continuing work to promote consistency in the resourcing of, and practices in, coroners offices across England and Wales
