Monitor
As a member of Monitors board, the non-executive director will play a key part in the effective and successful governance of Monitor. Specifically to:

ensure that Monitors role as the sector regulator for health services in England is developed and carried out, putting patients at the heart of the NHS
-
ensure that Monitors priorities in relation to NHS foundation trusts providing a high quality of patient care and achieving sound economic performance are met and that Monitor applies its regulatory powers appropriately
-
oversee the performance of Monitors executive team, holding it to account for the delivery of Monitors business plan
-
provide an independent, impartial view at board meetings and committees, and make a constructive contribution and challenge
